If you were to ask what the perfect example of a player pathway coming through the program, Jay Bolt's journey through our club would be at the top. Jay started with the club when it was First Coast KYX. Jay was a part of the first boys team to win a state cup for the club when he was 16. Jay committed to University of North Florida and while he was there he played on the Armada U23 Program in the NPSL. Jay finished his college career at UNF being the captain his senior year and now has recently signed his first professional contract with the Charleston Battery of USL. Jay Bolt states “having a club to come through that offers the proper youth development, then being able to stay apart of the club while in college with the U23s is something not many players can do. Playing for the U23s was big for me. Being able to play with older players who had been pros, or played in college, or current college players was a whole new level for me.” Armada FC Youth Academy Interim Executive Director Pat Cannon states “Jay was able to come through our club and take his game to the next level with the different levels of programs we offer. Jay had the ability to step in right after high school and play with the U23s, which enabled him to prepare for UNF. His leadership was fine-tuned at UNF and I look forward to seeing him succeed at the next level with the Battery.”
Jay was able to coach up with the U11 Armada Pre DA Team 1 at the Charleston Tournament this past February.
